Perfect Park Day

After a fun, full week in Dallas, Matt was on his first, and only "real" week of vacation this summer. His last Ph.D. class was over and his JBU class that he teaches hadn't started yet. So, we made the most of this fun week!

It was a crazy, nice week weather-wise. July is usually so HOT and we determined to make the most of this beautiful weather while it lasted. Having a picnic in the park and a family baseball game have been on our Summer Bucket List, and it seemed like the perfect time to do these.

We went to our local park and played awhile before having our picnic lunch.

The kids explored the creek.

Harrison scared off any snakes that might be out...
We played some Frisbee...
Harrison played in the sand....
We had a family softball game, one of our favorite things to do....
Charlotte had some sad times...
All in all it was a great, fun day! We played hard and had such a fun time together! We headed home to have a movie night -- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. We had just finished reading the book together and I'd promised them the movie -- along with Wonka Candies of course!
