Harrison is 22 Months!

This month has absolutely flown by for me -- it seems like I was just doing my 21 month post! Harrison is still such a joy to all of us! He definitely keeps me on my toes and is busy, busy, busy!

At 22 months Harrison....
...Has discovered that he really likes broccoli! He loves to eat it steamed or with dip. I've been putting it on his plate for months, but just recently he decided to try it after seeing Madeleine eating it. :)

...Has started saying "love you" in response to someone saying "I love you." I LOVE this!! It's so sweet and one of those things you wait and wait to hear your child say to you.

...He can count! If I start counting one, he'll finish with two and three and even occasionally four. Madeleine has been a big help with teaching him this. She counts everything and he still wants to do just what she's doing.

...He loves to brush his teeth/let me brush them. He will stand at the sink and whine "teeth, teeth," until I hand him the toothbrush.

...He's discovered colors and markers! Oh boy! I've found many, many places in my house with little stray crayon marks on them. I not sure where his secret stash of colors is because somehow he always seems to have an "unauthorized" crayon. He will sit and color FOREVER! He really prefers markers, but he doesn't like it when they get on his hands and he certainly can make a mess with them!!

...On a similar note, he LOVES stickers! I constantly find stickers on the floor, cabinets, furniture.... his favorite place to put them is on himself -- mostly his face! A new sheet of stickers can keep him occupied for a looooong time.

...He loves books. He'll sit and look at them or let me read to him. He points to everything in the book and wants to know what "dat" is.

...He's discovered Legos. He will work and work to put a piece together and then bring it to us -- so proud! He expects us to praise him and will fuss if we don't!...He's such a lovie-dovie little boy. He will suddenly come running into the room calling "mama, mama," and run straight to me and when I pick him up he will throw his arms around me and give me the biggest hugs.
...He's still quite a climber & has learned how to climb into his highchair and fasten himself in.
...He's also still a good sleeper --- generally. He's getting his molars and right now they are making for some long nights. Usually he will sleep from 8:30 until at least 7:00 the next morning. He also a wonderful napper! He will usually sleep 2-3 hours!! Love that!
I can't imagine what we did before our little cutie came along!

Halloween Party

Saturday night, Matt and Madeleine went to a Halloween party at the church we've been visiting. She looked so cute dressed up as Tinkerbelle! The party is put on by the teens as one of their service projects for the year and they did a great job. Madeleine came home with plenty of candy to last us until Halloween! :) It was really great for her to get to spent some time with just daddy, too.

Getting ready for the cake walk.

Ready....Aim.....Fire!

SleepyHead

This is how I found Harrison after preschool yesterday. As Madeleine would say, "Harrison's all pooped out." Need I say more?

Visit from Grammy & Pops

We had such a fun visit with Grammy and Pops this past weekend! We got to eat at yummy Mimi's restaurant and the kids got to pick out some new books at Borders -- thanks Grammy & Pops! Then we headed off to our new fav ice cream spot -- Braums. Both of our kids LOVE ice cream. Hmmmm, wonder who they get that from?? I was too busy enjoying the visit and catching up to take many pictures, but I did snap some.

Lookout Villians.....

......there's a new superhero in town.

I love that the broom is tucked into her undies -- very creative, I thought.
Off to save the world from dirt and grime....hahaha!

A Princess Event

This past week the much anticipated Sleeping Beauty movie came out. Needless to say we were at Walmart by 8am on the day of release to get it! I made Madeleine wait until Harrison's naptime to watch it so we could cuddle up on the couch and watch it together. We got all settled -- princess blanket, princess snacks in a princess bowl, pjs on -- and started the movie. The best part for me was watching her excitement. She was enthralled with the story, never taking her eyes off the screen.

A Simple Day at Home

I feel like I'm so far behind on my blogging. I'm having a hard time staying caught up, especially since preschool started, and it seems like life has been busy, busy, busy. We're still loving life in NWA and, I think, finally settling into a routine.

Tuesdays are usually my stay-at-home-all-day day since Mondays and Wednesdays are pretty crazy for us. I think it's important that the kids have time at home to just PLAY! Here are some pictures that I took this past week when they were playing dress up. Poor Harrison is always forced to dress up too. :) Madeleine is really into playing dress up -- especially fairies and princesses -- and then she "acts" out the princess movie as she watches it. One of her new favorites is Thumbelina (thankfully -- I've had about all the Arial/Belle/Cinderella I can take!!).

They LOVE the sit-n-spin.

After dinner we looked out our window and saw this......

Portable Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins Galore!
This past week our preschool had a Portable Pumpkin Patch come visit! It was soooo cute and the kids loved it. Here's my little pumpkin posing for the camera.
They had this huge trailer full of corn for the kids to play in -- I spent my time keeping a good eye on Harrison to be sure none of it went up his nose!! :)
He loved scooping the corn and playing in it. I found so much corn in his clothes/diaper later that day.
I only got this one picture of Madeleine (from behind) 'cause she was to busy to be bothered for pictures.......but she had a great time too! She's so proud of her pumpkin that she picked out.

Sunday Finest

We actually got ready for church with time to spare on Sunday (wow!) and used the extra time to snap a few photos of the kids. Enjoy!
