First Days of School

School got off to a great start this year! Madeleine & Harrison started on Monday, and then Charlotte started on Wednesday. The kids were excited to get back and see their friends.
Monday, Charlotte & I stayed home all day, except for her kindergarten testing appt. Then on Tuesday we had a super-fun day before kindergarten planned. She slept in, then we headed to get mani/pedis. :) I think she likes the spa treatments. Ha!
It was such a pretty day, we walked next door and had lunch outside on the patio at one of her favorite spots. I was feeling pretty good until we got to the end of lunch. Then it just started to hit me that these days with her are over. I started holding back tears for pretty much the rest of the day.
After lunch we went to Barnes & Noble and picked out a new book to read that night (along with our Kindergarten tradition -- The Kissing Hand).
And, got hot chocolate, of course. :)
Then it was on to Bath & Body to look for a Hand Sanitizer (or 5) for her lunch box.
She had gym that afternoon, then it was home for dinner & bed. We were up bright and early and off to her first day of school. She was beyond excited! It was finally her turn!
 Walking to class.
She found her cubby right away.
 And her seat.
I'm so so thankful for her sweet teacher, Mrs. Dougan. She is just perfect for our girl!
I thought about her all day, and one of my sweet friends at school checked on her at lunch and sent me this picture. Made my day!
We celebrated a great first week that weekend with a girls dinner with some friends while the boys had a night at home. It was great!

Last Bit of Summer

The last days of our summer were filled to the brim with fun! Madeleine had private tumbling lessons all summer -- and the little sisters played baby dolls. :)
Charlotte was part of a square dancing group this year. We spent our Friday nights at practice.
She worked hard for this candy! Her coach knows the way to her heart -- skittles when she got her mill circle!
Both girls did cheer camp again and LOVED it!
Matt's cousin got married and Charlotte got to be the flower girl. She was in heaven. :)
Open house for all the kiddos -- but only Charlotte wanted a picture this year.

We spent our last day of summer at the PG Waterpark with friends. The perfect ending to a summer of fun!
And, with 2 weeks left in our summer (and Matt already back at work) we decided to tackle a BIG house project. :)

I also painted my pantry and reorganized it. I'm pretty proud of myself and I love it!
