Girl Time
Recently, Madeleine has gotten really into coloring and will sit for hours just working on one picture. So, this has become our most popular activity while Harrison naps. She will tell me, "mommy, let's talk and color." Oh yeah, this girl loves to chat! She will talk to me about everything and I love listening to her and seeing how her little mind works. It's amazing the things she'll remember, too! I remember my mom always saying how I was a BIG talker (and still am) and how there was never a quiet moment.......well, I feel the same way now! It's no wonder Harrison doesn't say much; he never gets a chance! :)
Here are some pictures from this week of Madeleine working on some art. Yep, she's only wearing undies.....that's all she wants to wear at home. I let her -- one of the benefits of staying home with them is they can relax and be comfy and even it that means wearing just undies or a tutu.
I have to add one little tidbit. Madeleine is becoming VERY independent and wants to dress herself every day. I usually lay out her clothes and she'll put them on. Well, yesterday before preschool I set out her clothes and since we were running late I sent her in to put them on herself. She came back a few minutes later looking fine and off we went to school. Fast forward to after school.......during Harrison's naptime we "rest" on the couch for a little while. She takes off her pants and ta-da there are her PJ shorts UNDER her pants! She wore her PJs to school. :)

Outside Fun
Monday afternoon we took the kids to the park for some much needed outside fun! I haven't been brave enough to try this by myself yet with both of them -- and after Monday I'm still not sure it's going to happen anytime soon! Madeleine just loves going to the park! One good thing about Cabot is the amazing park they have.....3 separate playgrounds geared toward different ages.
This was Harrison's first real park trip & he didn't seem too impressed. Although, he sure enjoyed swinging. He just kicked back and relaxed & would have been content to spend the entire time in the swing. We tried the slide and some of the climbing gear, but he wasn't into it. He just wanted to swing......Lazy boy! Madeleine, on the other hand, was EVERYWHERE. She went running from one thing to the next and even found her brave side and tried the biggest slide out there. :)

Poor Harrison
Poor Harrison has been under the weather for several days! He started running a fever Thursday and kept it until Sunday. I actually took him to the doctor on Friday and was given the "there's nothing wrong with him" spiel. It pretty much went downhill from there......Saturday all he did was sleep or lay on the couch. He wouldn't eat anything and he had a 103.8 fever. :( He was just so sad. All he wanted was to be held. Thankfully, my parents offered to come get Madeleine and keep her & Matt and I spent all of Saturday night up with him. He finally seemed a little better Sunday morning -- after throwing up all over ME! Yucky! (I'm not sure why, but I alway seem to be the target of harrison's vomit!). Here are some pictures of my baby. It's strange to see him so STILL.......definitely the tip-off that he's really, really not feeling good.
Chillin' with Dad and watching golf. He stayed here all afternoon.

Some Good Eats
With LOTS of help from Madeleine I made a low-fat brownie trifle for dessert this weekend. Madeleine has become a very sweet little helper in the kitchen. I think her favorite thing to do is wash the dishes.....or maybe lick the bowl. She actually took the bowl we mixed the brownies in and put what she didn't finish in the fridge "for safekeeping for later.....and DON'T wash it mommy!"
Harrison seemed to like it too. Here are some pictures I took at dinner.

My Little Reader
This is where I found Harrison after breakfast this morning.....
......snuggled up in his chair, just reading! How cute is that! This has become one of his favorite things to do & I'll find him in there just looking at his books. I must admit this really makes me smile -- I've worked really, REALLY hard to teach him to sit still and let me read to him. Now we probably read an average of 30 books a day! :)
