After months of weekends that were over-busy, we had planned to have a very lazy Memorial Day weekend. We weren't out of school yet, but Matt had the day off and we were all looking forward to a 3-day weekend.
We ended up with a weekend that was much busier than planned. Saturday Matt and Harrison got up early and had a guys morning -- Denny's for breakfast then fishing. Harrison caught a record (for him) 10 fish! They got home around lunch time and we spent a good part of the afternoon outside. We had dinner and got ready for church the next day.
Sunday, Matt and I wrapped up our time teaching the cradle roll class. I love being in there with the babies! It is such a sweet class to teach. I've been in there since the first of December, and I have to admit, I'm looking forward to getting to go to class for a bit. Sunday night our lifegroup had a picnic dinner at a local park. We had such a great time -- we played softball, ate lots of yummy food, and explored the creek. :) We stayed past the time the park lights came on and the lightening bugs were out. Such a great night! Love our lifegroup!
Monday morning we were up bright and early to do some fishing! We all went back to the spot where Matt & Harrison went on Saturday. It was a great overcast morning and not even hot. The kids fished for a couple of hours and caught a ton of little fish. Charlotte fished some and then she and I went and spent a good part of our time on the swings which were closeby.
Harrison is now self-sufficient when fishing -- he can bait his hook and take the fish off and let them go. He loves to fish!!
We headed home and had lunch and then the kids headed outside to play on the blowup. Fun! This is the first year that Charlotte has been able to do the slide and she had such fun doing it!
We ended the day with dinner of grilled chicken, veggies, watermelon. And, then we had our homemade chocolate ice cream for dessert!
