Zoo Fun

Saturday we headed out with our friends from PV for a day of fun at the zoo. This was Harrison's first zoo trip and I really wasn't expecting him to be that impressed......boy was I wrong! He LOVED it! He made animal sounds the entire time. He wanted to get out at each stop and the look on his face was just adorable. His eyes got so big and he just stared at the animals and pointed at them all the while making animal sounds (not necessarily the right sounds, sometime just a funny growling sound). Matt and I laughed the whole time! :)
Madeleine, of course, is an old pro at the zoo. She knew ahead of time what she wanted to see...."zebras, crocodiles, snakes, elephants, giraffes." So, those were some of our first stops. It was COLD when we got there -- crazy weather -- but beautiful by the time we left. We got to see quite a show by many of the animals: the tiger took a bath then shook off and water went everywhere, the lions were playing with their ball and each other, the giraffes came up right next to us, the monkeys were swinging all over the place. This was such a treat since usually the animals are just sitting around and it made the day even more fun!

Checking out the lions.

After awhile we headed to the indoor rainforest to get WARM! Inside there were birds that were walking around the paths.

We also stopped by the koi fish pond and fed the fish. Harrison LOVED this! He would drop one little piece of food at a time in the water and watch for the fish to come get it.

Our final stop was the Carousel where Madeleine and Daddy went for a ride.
We finished our day with a picnic with all of our friends. It was such a fun day! Harrison fell asleep before we were even out of the parking lot. :)
