One side trip we'd decided to make early on was to the amazing outlets in Orlando. I could have spent a couple of days there if we'd had the time (and money!). However, this time I was on a mission to get Madeleine some cute summer clothes and look for some easter outfits. This mall had an outlet for one of my favorite brands, Heartstrings, which actually carries some stuff for Madeleine that lets her look like a little girl, not a mini-teen. After loading up on some great deals, we grabbed a quick bite to eat there. Charlotte even got her first taste of pizza -- Yum-O!
Our next stop was Animal Kingdom. We actually had to convince the kids to go to Animal Kingdom -- they wanted to go back to Magic Kingdom since we'd had such fun. However, they ended up having a blast! We got there around 2:30ish and were able to park and get into the park quickly. We caught a tram and were inside within minutes. :) I think we got very lucky on our timing here, because the park was anything BUT crowded! We felt like we had the place almost to ourselves!
We took our time wandering to the Safari, stopping to look at the different animals along the way. This place was an instant hit! Harrison was in animal heaven, Madeleine loved it too, and Charlotte was quite fascinated with all the different animals. Win-win-win!
The Safari was so cool! We sat in the front row of the truck and had a great view! Matt had to keep a good hold on Charlotte who was so excited at all the animals! And, Harrison's comments and excited remarks kept our tourguide laughing the entire time. :)
We saw a LOT of animals and I'm not posting pictures of all of them. The kids loved that the ride had a "shake-shake" bridge and we went by waterfalls.
At one point we had to stop the truck because the rinos were coming right at us!
After the safari we went and checked out the fish. We went under the ground and were able to see them under the water -- again, we were the only ones down there and we able to take our time looking.
We wandered through the park, stopping to look at more animals on our way to DinoLand.
After riding the flying dinosaurs (all 5 of us -- even Charlotte!) -- with no wait! -- we headed to the Boneyard Playground. This was one of the kids favorite things. It had so much for the kids to climb on and some cool slides! It had caves and tunnels and even a little waterfall for them to run through.
