Christmas Crafts and Gingerbread House

December is always a super busy month -- partly because of all the fun things we try and pack in as a family, but also because of helping at school and church and just the usual stuff we having going on. :)

I bought some craft stuff at Hobby Lobby at the beginning of the season for those times I just need to get something done and the kids need an activity. They are finally at that stage where I can get them started on an activity and supervise from a distance, and I have to say it is the best!! I love the memories of us crafting together, and we still do that, but it's also so nice to be able to work on something while they are busy. :)

One of their favorites was those little beads that you thread onto a small pipecleaner and turn into a candy cane. Even Charlotte was able to do them -- and as a bonus it taught her how to do patterns!

They each crafted a LOT of those little things! It kept them busy for a solid hour and they were so proud of what they had made!
Then we hauled out the gingerbread house! They worked together and had fun. Our gingerbread houses won't ever win any awards, but they love making them and that's what counts, right?
