A Package from the North Pole

Friday night, before we left to go see the lights, we discovered a package on the doorstep. They quickly figured out that "S.C." must be Santa! Thankfully, we had the lights to distract us since we couldn't open it until dark.
Their excitement was at epic proportions by the time we got home and ready to open it!
Inside they found special hot chocolate like they have in the North Pole, Christmas mugs, Christmas PJs and a letter from Santa himself!

I love Madeleine's expression in this picture. She was intently reading the letter to the other two. It told them that he'd been checking on them this year, and pointed out some nice things they'd done for each other. It told them about some of the mischief that Hermie the Elf had gotten into this year as well up at the North Pole and warned them that while Santa had told him to be good, it's possible that he might create some mischief at our house. Then he told them that he was going to be sending out a flight of elves that night and they had to go right to sleep so Hermie could arrive!
Harrison laughing at some of Hermie's North Pole Antics!

Of course they had to change into their PJs right away. Harrison declared that they are the coziest, warmest PJs he's ever had because they came right from the North Pole and they have to have extra warm jammies up there!

After enjoying their hot chocolate, it was time for bed. They went right to sleep! We'd set the table for our annual North Pole B'fast in the morning. They remembered that Hermie had brought some goodies for them last year and were excited to see what the morning might hold.

And, I think they liked the jammies a lot -- the only time they took them off that weekend was to go to church on Sunday.
